Jim Fleming is a central Minnesota-based lawyer with extensive experience representing clients in the state and federal courts in non-litigation related matters and complex business transactions. He received his J.D. Degree from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1984. During his years of practice, Jim has successfully represented clients in over 250 criminal and civil trials, numerous administrative proceedings and in appearances before city councils, county boards and other political sub-division bodies. His work has also included representation in complex felony criminal matters as well as business start-ups, Sub-S and acquisitions, real estate, estate planning and civil litigation cases.
"Outside of the business oriented relationship between business owner/employer and attorney, the majority of people have limited contact with, or experience in working with attorneys when the need suddenly arises.
I believe it is important to develop a relationship with my clients that is founded upon mutual trust, unwavering honesty, and a dedication to doing the hard work necessary to properly advocate for my clients, while communicating with them about the laws, procedures and concepts necessary to perform that work in a straightforward, easy to understand fashion. Proper representation cannot be accomplished without making sure that clients understand the process involved, and their rights and responsibilities within that process. No attorney knows all the law, or has all the answers at the tip of their tongue. Its acceptable to tell a client that you do not know the answer to a question. As long as they know that they can trust you to find that answer for them as quickly as possible and at a reasonable cost."
Because of that philosophy, Jim has had many clients referred to him by other attorneys who know his reputation for hard work and honesty, and other members of the community judges, existing and former clients and law enforcement officials officers, all of whom refer their own friends and family members as well.
